Tonight it is going to get cold, really cold, in parts of New York State.


  The advisory is in place for the Southern part of the state through the upper central part. The advisory covers counties like Allegany, Cortland, Oneonta, Pike, and Broome.

The advisory is in place starting at Midnight and will last until around 9 am on Friday morning. The advisory warns of frost that could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and outdoor plants that may be killed if left uncovered.

The best thing to do, if possible, is bring in plants and vegetables indoors. You should also not leave pets outdoors at night during the advisory period.

The cold will continue into early next week as well across the State.
