The nasty winter weather will continue across New York State today and the National Weather Service has issued several different alerts across the state.

In Western New York, there is a wind advisory and a cold weather advisory in place for Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties.

The wind advisory is in place until 6 pm tonight and the cold weather advisory will start at 10 pm and go until 10 am on Tuesday.

In Central New York, there is a Lake Effect Snow warning for much of the region until 4 pm today and then there is a winter storm watch in place starting tonight and lasting until Wednesday morning.


Almost all of New York State is under some sort of weather advisory today. That means travel will be impacted, so if you are traveling on the roads across New York make sure to use extra caution.

More snow is expected to move across the state this week as well. So you can expect to add to the snow totals in your neighborhood this week.
