Multiple Tornados Possible Across New York State
This year has already been a record year for tornados in New York State. This past Monday in Buffalo the 26th confirmed tornado in New York State touchdown.
It looks like the record won't last long as there could be multiple tornados this week across the state due to Tropical Storm Debby.

Debby is slowly moving up the East Coast and is expected to move through New York State late tonight through the weekend. The weather system is expected to bring heavy rains along with damaging winds and possible hail.
The weather system will also bring conditions that are favorable for the formation of tornados.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul issued a statement asking New York residents to prepare for severe weather over the next 24-72 hours.
According to the State Weather Risk Communication Center, the old record was 25 confirmed tornados which happened back in 1992. Both 1998 and 2011 each had 23 confirmed tornados to hold 3rd place on the list of most tornados in one year.

After this next round of severe weather, we could add to the record for the most amount of tornados in one year here in New York State.
