
5th Confirmed Tornado Of 2025 In New York State
This week's severe weather produced the 5th confirmed tornado of 2025 in New York State.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed late last night that an EF-2 tornado had touched down in Phelps, New York. The tornado had wind speeds of 115 miles per hour.

The tornado touched down on Monday, July 7th, and traveled just over 1 mile while on the ground. The tornado touched down at 6:27 pm and lasted 10 minutes.
The good news is that no one was injured by this tornado.
There was some damage reported from this tornado.
Tornadoes In New York State In 2025
This tornado was the 5th confirmed tornado so far this year. The other four tornadoes were all EF-1 tornadoes. Two were in Western New York, one was in Central New York, and the other was in Northern New York.
