Wild Weather Reeked Havoc Across Western New York

Wednesday was a wild weather day across Western New York with multiple warnings and watches issued for much of the area. Local meteorologists were very busy on Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday night following several storms.

Tornado Warnings Issued Across Western New York

Officials with the National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings and watches on Wednesday, including one warning that was issued after a tornado was observed near Batavia.

Several Tornadoes Spotted In Western New York

According to several posts on social media, there were reports of tornadoes across several areas in Western New York.

Officials with the National Weather Service will be out over the next several days to confirm where and when tornadoes touched down in Western New York.

Thousands Of Western New York Residents Without Power

Several thousand people are still without power due to the storms from Wednesday Night. At the time of this writing, around 8,000 homes were still without power.

Crews from both power companies are currently out trying to return power to those homes affected by the outages.

Better Weather Coming To Western New York

The weather will improve as we head into the long Labor Day weekend. There is a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, with more rain possible through Friday afternoon.

Sunshine is expected back in Western New York on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
