
Northern Lights Could Be Visible Tonight In New York
Another solar flare could lead to the Northern Lights being visible here in New York State tonight.
This past weekend, the Northern Lights were visible across most of New York State. Tonight, you will need to be on the Northern side of the state to see the Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights' southern boundary could drop far enough south for people along the New York/Canada border to see the Northern Lights tonight.
If visible, the lights will be very faint, and you will have to use a camera to see them. They will not be visible to the naked eye.
Late March is one of the peak times of the year to see the Northern Lights, and the best time to see them is between 9 pm and 2 am. The peak time to see the Northern Lights is between 11 pm and Midnight.

If you are hoping to see the Northern Lights tonight, you will need to get away from artificial light and find a place with clear skies.
Some of the best viewing could be along the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Looking over the lakes gives you a night balance of dark sky and lack of artificial lights.
The further north you go in New York, the better chance you have of seeing the Northern Lights tonight.
