Best Places To See Northern Lights In Western New York
Once again this weekend we have a slight chance to see the Northern Lights in Western New York.

Several storms emerged from the Sun this week, dropping the Northern Lights' Southern boundary into Western New York.
But where is the best place to see the Northern Lights in the 716?

Experts say that to give yourself the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights is to get away from artificial lights. That means you will want to go to the edge of Lake Erie or Lake Ontario and look over the water.

Here are some places to head out to for a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Western New York.
BENNETTE BEACH
Located right on the shores of Lake Erie, when you get to Bennette Beach there is no artificial light that would disturb your viewing of the Northern Lights.
OLCOTT BEACH
Another beach that gives up plenty of darkness over Lake Ontario. Head out to this beach knowing that looking over the dark water of Lake Ontario will give you a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights
SENECA ONE TOWER
Yes, it is located in downtown Buffalo, but if you can get on one of the upper levels with windows that look out over Lake Erie, the article light will be below you and you will have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
SMALL BOAT HARBOR
Again the artificial light would be behind you and looking over Lake Erie would give you plenty of dark space to see the Northern Lights.
ON LAKE ERIE AND LAKE ONTARIO
If you have a boat or a friend with a boat and don't mind boating in the dark, heading out on the lake away from the shore would give you a better chance at seeing the Northern Lights.
