
Potential Nor’easter Headed To New York This Weekend?
Several weather models are calling for a massive Nor'easter to cut across New York State this weekend, bringing a shot of winter snow to most of the Empire State. At the time of this writing, both Accuweather and The Weather Channel are predicting that this Nor'easter could impact much of the state starting on Saturday and lasting into early next week.
Weather Forecasts Calling For Nor'easter In New York State
The Weather Channel said the chance of this nor-easter developing and impacting large parts of the East Coast, including New York, is increasing. It is still not 100% calling for this weather event to happen, but it is updating its weather models often. You can see those models HERE.
AccuWeather is also calling for a potential nor-easter to develop this weekend, starting late on Sunday and heading into early next week. It could bring plenty of snow across New York, with the eastern part of the State getting the most snow from this storm.
If this storm does develop, travel across the state could be severely impacted, including kids heading back to school on Monday.

Snowiest Cities In New York State
If this nor'easter does develop, it could really increase the total amount of snowfall in the cities that battle each winter for the New York State Golden Snowball award. This award is given to the city that gets the most snow during the winter.
As of right now, Syracuse is leading the way with 127 inches of snow, followed by Rochester with 101 inches and Buffalo in 3rd with just over 81 inches of snow.
