Winds coming out of the West will bring some smoke from the wildfires in Canada to New York State this weekend.

The good news is that the smoke is expected to stay high in the astrosphere which means it shouldn't have a major impact on the air quality across the state. There will be a hazy in the air due to the smoke.


The air quality across New York should remain in the fair range but it could drop into the moderate range which means people who are sensitive to allergens or have respiratory issues should limit their time outdoors.

The Northeast winds will bring smoke from the wildfires in Central and Western Canada, into New York State. The latest weather system is expected to last into early next week which means we could be impacted by the smoke through the weekend.

The smoke will also affect how most of us see the moon. The hazy will turn the moon into more of an orangest color over the next several days. You might also notice a smoky smell over the next several days as well.
