Mother Nature got the memo that it is November here in Western New York and that means snow is here.

We came really close to tying the record for the latest measurable snowfall; date in Western New York, which is November 22nd set in 1946 and 1985.

Today we will see some light scattered snow showers early on before much more measurable snow is heading our way this evening and heading into the overnight hours.

A Winter Weather Advisory has already been issued for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties. That advisory will start at 6 pm tonight and last until noon on Friday.

During that time frame, we could see up to 7 inches of snow in the higher elevations of those areas along with a couple of inches elsewhere around Western New York.


The good news for Western New York is that we are missing the brunt of this storm. It is will have a major impact on the southern and central parts of New York State where they could get several inches of snow over the next 72 hours.
