After being washed out to sea by last year’s Japan tsunami and earthquake, a fishing boat has drifted across the Pacific and was closing in on British Columbia’s north coast. The 150-foot ship has survived the cross, worse for wear, and was found drifting right-side-up.

“It’s been drifting across the Pacific for a year, so it’s pretty beat up,” said marine search coordinator Jeff Olsson of Victoria’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.
