They always say (whoever "they" are) if you want to know what the best profession is for you, pretend you have a HUGE amount of money at your disposal...what would you do? If you said, "I'd tinker around with car engines," you're supposed to be a mechanic.

My answer is always something to do with dogs. I'd buy the Buffalo Animal Shelter and make an entire new huge facility and pay the staff double and let the dogs stay up late watching TV...

So this couple, in my book, deserves some kind of award, at the very least, a life-sized statue outside Eaton Centre. Too much?

Any who, Danielle Eden and Rob Scheinberg have a dog shelter in Toronto, specifically for dogs who are disabled or can't get adopted because they're old or abused. They've got lots of room – 50 acres – and sometimes they bring in 10 to 20 news dogs at a time from other shelters.

They were recently visiting Israel and found a dog shelter made for 70 dogs...with 265 living there. They shared cages and only had bread for food, and rats were everywhere.

Danielle and Rob BOUGHT THE ENTIRE SHELTER. They've flown about 50 of the dogs back to Toronto, relocated another 100 in Israel. About 100 still remain at the original shelter, but they're on a healthy diet now and the shelter is all cleaned up.
