This morning, you will want to give yourself some extra time to head into work or school as we deal with snowy weather for St. Patrick's Day. An overnight storm has left roads snow-covered and icy.

Messy Morning Commute In Western New York

This morning, some people are waking up to a couple of inches of snow from an overnight storm. This snow will impact your morning commute as many of the side roads are snow-covered and icy.

Snowplows have been out and about so far this morning, and many main roads have been plowed and salted. Even with the plows, traffic will be moving a little slower than normal. One of the biggest problems I ran into this morning was that many of the lane markers were still covered in snow, which meant it was hard to see if you were still in your lane or veering off into other lanes.

Another big issue is that many secondary roads and roads inside neighborhoods are still very much snow-covered. This will slow things down, especially when the school buses hit the road to pick up the kids.
