No Onions At McDonalds In New York?
If you head to McDonald's this weekend for a burger or Quarter Pounder you might find something missing.
The giant fast food restaurant announced that onions supplied by a third-party company were the reason for an E. Coli outbreak that took place earlier this week.
The onions came from Taylor Farms which is the company's supplier of the onions served on Quarter Pounders. Tyson Farms has issued a recall of all the onions they distributed because of the potential for E. Coli contamination. They urged all restaurants to not use the onions and destroy whatever they had left.

Some other restaurant chains like Taco Bell and KFC have also pulled onions off their menu and from their meals as a precaution.
As of this past Wednesday, 49 people were sickened from the tainted onions with one older adult passing away from a reaction to the onions. Officials with the FDA are expecting that number to increase as people show more symptoms and go to the hospital.
Some symptoms of E. Coli infection include Diarrhea, Stomach cramps, Fever, Vomiting, and signs of dehydration.
Most of the cases of E. Coli were reported in the midwest and western states with the most cases in Colorado.
