Do you play Farm Town on Facebook? I haven't in a long time, but I remember you frequently get asked to do chores on someone else's "farm" [personally, I always figured that if you couldn't do the work yourself, especially on a virtual farm, maybe you shouldn't get into farming]. But I never heard of anyone offering to donate a kidney in the real world. Until now, anyway.

Lisa Miller plays Farm Town from her home in Georgia. While playing, she became friends with a woman in Idaho.Between chorse, they started to chat. The woman in Idaho revealed that her daughter was desperately in need of a kidney transplant.

Miller says that she felt compelled to help the young woman who needed the new kidney. She talked about the problem with her husband, Chris. He agreed to be tested, and it turned out his kidney was a perfect match!

The woman in Idaho had tried to find a match for her daughter for three years, using Facebook and other means of meeting potential donors for her daughter. The Millers recently met the daughter in Spokane, WA, where she has treatments. The surgery is scheduled for January, but the Millers say they wish they could do it now!

And I thought picking crops was a big deal. Guess I'm not the Farm Town type.
