The Buffalo Sabre playoff drought will officially end on Sunday April, 19th, 2026. That is when the Sabres will host the Boston Bruins in the first playoff game in Buffalo since the 2010-11 season, ending the 14-season drought.

Buffalo Sabres Will Play On Sunday

The Buffalo Sabres made the announcement that the first playoff game this season for the team will be at KeyBank Center on Sunday, April 19th. The NHL playoffs officially kick off this weekend with half the teams playing on Saturday and the other half on Sunday.

The Sabres will be one of the teams to play on Sunday.



Buffalo and Boston will meet for the 9th Time In Postseason Play

This series will be the 9th time Buffalo and Boston have played each other in the NHL playoffs. The Bruins have a commanding lead, winning 6 out of the 8 series so far between the two teams. The Bruins also beat the Sabres three out of four times in the regular season this year.

Overall, the Sabres are 132-145-46 all-time against the Bruins in the regular season.
