The Buffalo Sabres have been one of the best teams in the NHL this year, and their captain is getting his flowers. The NHL announced that Rasmus Dahlin is one of the nominees for a postseason award.

Rasmus Dahlin Nominated For 2026 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

The Buffalo Sabres captain was announced as one of the nominees for the 2026 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is given to the player who best exemplifies qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.


The Professional Hockey Writers Association nominated one player from each team for this yearly award, and the winner will be announced later this Spring.

Since the inception of the award back in 1968, two Buffalo Sabres players have won the award. Don Luce in 1975 and Pat LaFontaine in 1995.

Buffalo Sabres Back Atop Atlantic Division

The Buffalo Sabres opened up a slight lead in the race for the Atlantic Division title. The Sabres beat the New York Rangers last night 5-3. With the win, the Sabres now have 104 points on the season. That is two points ahead of both Tampa Bay and Montreal.

Both those teams have played one less game than the Sabres so far this season.

The Sabres will look to extend that lead tonight as they are back home at KeyBank Center tonight to host Columbus. Puck drop is set for 7 pm.
