Hey Buffalo: “Joe’s Crab Shack” Is Here!

A new restaurant opened in Amherst Monday, the first of it's kind in New York State. Hundreds were waiting in line for the grand opening of Joe's Crab Shack. The reason? A chance at a free snow crab bucket once a month for a year.

To prepare for the grand opening, servers had to go through weeks of training, not just serving tables, they had to learn something unique to Joe's Crab Shack: a dance routine.

Why Amherst? The franchise thought the Buffalo area would be a great spot to start off in New York. Joe's Crab Shack also broke ground two weeks ago in Rochester for another location to open in three months.
