Here is what is happening across Western New York for your Tuesday.

1 - We saw some very nasty weather swept across Western New York yesterday afternoon and officials with The National Weather Service are expected to check out several locations on Grand Island to see if a tornado touched down. The good news is that we will see a massive improvement with the weather today as we are expecting lots of sunshine today with a high near 72.
2 – Tonight Americans will have a chance to see how each side of the presidential race plans on leading the nation over the next four years as Vice President Kalama Harris debates former President Donald Trump. 3 - The Buffalo Bills and Bills Mafia got some good news yesterday as head coach Sean McDermott announced that Josh Allen was cleared to practice this week and will start Thursday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Allen hurt his left hand after hurdling an Arizona player for his 2nd rushing touchdown of the game. On the flip side, McDermott announced that nickel cornerback Taron Johnson will miss the Miami game with a forearm injury.

4 - Tonight could be a record-breaking night here in Western New York. The Mega Millions jackpot is up to 800 million dollars and if someone from the 716 were to match all five numbers and get the Megaball they would set the record for largest jackpot ever won by a New York State resident. The current record of $476 million dollars was set last year when Johnnie Taylor won the Mega Millions in April. If you want to try your luck, you need to purchase by 10:45 tonight.
5 - This Friday is Friday the 13th and many people here in Western New York consider that to be a VERY unlucky day, but why? Well, there are two reasons. In most cultures, 12 is considered a perfect number so 13 would be imperfect, and back in the days of the Roman Empire, Fridays were the days they would execute prisoners, so putting those two together means a very unlucky day.

In the state of New York, we can count on those taxes being high. But how high is our tax burden in the Empire State versus other states?
