
What’s Trending In Western New York: Friday Edition
Here is what's happening around Western New York.
1 –We have another perfect fall day on tap today across Western New York. We are looking at mostly sunny skies with a high near 68. That amazing weather will continue tomorrow as more sunshine is expected with highs in the mid-60s. Things change a bit as a weather front will bring some rain our rain Sunday evening and cooler temperatures are expected for next week.

2 –The dock worker strike is currently suspended as the labor union and shipping companies have agreed to a proposed wage hike. The strike will be suspended until at least the new year as both sides continue to work on hammering out a new deal. This is good news for consumers as the supply chain will return back to normal and goods at stores will return to normal levels.
3-We made it to Friday and there are plenty of things happening around Western New York. The Buffalo Sabres kick off their season in Prague with the NHL Global Series. Today’s puck drop is set for 1 pm and tomorrow’s puck drop will be 10 am. A fun woof-and-treat dog trick-or-treating and costume contest fundraiser is happening in Lancaster tomorrow. The money raised will benefit the Como Lake Bark Park, and it is back again tonight, FREE Bar Bingo at Bloomfield’s Pub in Depew. Bingo starts at 5 pm and it is always free to play. You can win lots of great prizes including tickets to the Halloween “Vampires and Vixens” party at the Seneca Niagara Casino.

4– The Buffalo Bills are headed off to Hoston this weekend to take on the Texans. Former Bills All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs will take on his former team for the 1st time since being traded this off-season. Diggs earlier this week said he learned a lot while in Buffalo. Kick-off this Sunday is set for 1 pm with the game airing locally on WIVB Channel 4.
5 – If you missed your chance to see the Northern Lights last night, no worries you will get another chance tomorrow night into Sunday morning. A geometric storm released from the sun earlier this week will once again push the southern boundary of the Northern Lights into Western New York. The best time to view the Northern Lights will be Saturday Night around 11 pm until Sunday at 3 am.

6- This Saturday one of the coolest events in High School sports is taking place. The Frontier Boys soccer team will be celebrating their senior night with a special trick-or-treat event. The community is invited to come enjoy the game and trick or treat around the field during half-time. Head Coach Rich Kozak said the event is a great way for the community to support local high school athletes (audio) The event will kick off around 6:15 pm.
