There is a new viral trend that is happening, and it has to do with good manners. A list of "everyday etiquette" tips is starting to pop up all over the internet, and there are some things that should be on that list specially for Western New York.

Viral Everyday Etiquette Tips

Here is a look at some of the list that is currently trending on social media.

Hold the door if someone is right behind you.
Let people exit an elevator before you enter. The same goes for buses and trains.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
If someone shows you a picture on their phone, don't start swiping.
Return borrowed stuff in the same condition, or better.
Don't comment on someone's food choices unless they ask.
If you're having a conversation, put your phone away.

These are all good tips, but there are some tips I wish every Western New Yorker would know, too.

Everyday Etiquette Tips For Western New Yorkers

Don't Hog All The Flats or Drumsticks - We all have our favorite type of wing, but if you are in a group setting, don't be that person who only eats one type. Make sure you leave some for everyone else.

Let People Merge On The Highways - We have some of the worst on/off ramps I have ever seen in America. Coming off Millersport to the 290 if maybe the worst one. So if you are on the 33, the 290, the 190, and you see a car trying to merge, please let them.

Say Go Bills - This is an unofficial goodbye in Western New York. If someone says "Go Bills" to you as they leave, you'd better say it right back.

Help Clear Your Neighbors' Snow - We deal in feet, not inches, of snow in Western New York, and if you are able to help shovel or snowblow your neighbor's sidewalk or driveway, you should.
