A local music fan who suffered a catastrophic injury at a concert in Buffalo has finally spoken out about the harrowing ordeal. 

A horrible accident occurred on April 30th  during a concert for the Australian punk band Trophy Eyes at Mohawk Place. During the band's set, lead singer John Floreani dove off the stage, injuring 24-year-old Bird Piché, leading to a severe spinal cord injury.

A GoFundMe for Bird has currently raised over $75k, and the band took to social media days later to comment on the incident, stating the accident had “shaken us all to our core.” 

Now, Piché and her family have finally spoken out about that night, her injuries, and her prognosis.

Buffalo Concert Injury Victim Speaks Out

Although the injuries she suffered from the stage dive are extensive, Bird Piché remains hopeful that she will make a full recovery, telling NBC News

"I have a long road ahead, but I'm very optimistic right now.”

Through rehab, the young fan has regained the use of her arms, as well as some leg function. However, she has yet to regain the full use of her hands and toes. Despite this, Piché told the news outlet, 

"Nothing is certain, obviously, but they are predicting l will have full recovery of everything."
