The worst NFL draft pick in Buffalo Bills history turned out to be one of the reasons the Bills made a historic run to four straight Super Bowls.

With the NFL draft coming up at the end of April, it is time to reflect on the biggest draft bust in Buffalo Bills history and how it worked out for the Bills down the line.

The Worst Draft Pick In Buffalo Bills History

But due to the fact that this player never played for the Bills, the worst draft pick in Buffalo Bills history has to be Tom Cousinieau. He was drafted #1 over in the 1979 NFL draft by the Bills, but opted to play in the CFL with Montreal over playing for the Bills.

He would end up playing three seasons in the CFL before returning to the NFL. He still didn't want to play for the Bills, so he was traded to Cleveland for a first-round draft choice in the 1983 NFL draft. He would play for the Cleveland Browns and the 49ers during his career.

Worst Draft Pick Leads To Super Bowl For Buffalo

Of course, that draft pick would end up being one of the best picks by the Buffalo Bills as they used that pick to select Jim Kelly. Kelly would go on to have a Hall of Fame career and would lead the Bills to four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s.

Let's hope the Bills this year make a pick like Jim Kelly and not like Tom Cousineau.
