Best Beaches 2011

Western New York didn't make the list again.  America's top beach is in  Florida, but I guess they have more sand! 

Dr. Stephen Leatherman of Florida International University is ranking Siesta Beach in Sarasota, Florida, the Number One beach in his annual survey.  Leatherman, otherwise known as "Dr. Beach," says the sand is like sugar, it's super soft and super fine.   So, here goes, for your vacation planning... check these beaches out - and let us know if you have any favorites!

3. Kahanamoku Beach -- Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii
4. Main Beach -- East Hampton, New York
5. Cape Hatteras -- North Carolina

7. Beachwalker Park -- Kiawah Island, SC
8. Coast Guard Beach -- Cape Cod, Massachusetts
