Open Letter To People Shooting Off Fireworks In Western New York
This week has been a noisy week already here in Western New York, and it is going to get noisier as we head into the weekend.
4th of July is this Friday, and many people are already celebrating with fireworks all across Western New York, and I have one thing to say to them...STOP!
Open Letter To People Shooting Off Fireworks In Western New York
If you are the person randomly shooting off firecrackers, bottle rockets, and any other sort of fireworks, you need to stop. While I love fireworks and I love to see them, there is no need to see them three or four days before or after the 4th of July.
We should all come to an agreement that if you want to shoot off fireworks in your own backyard or in a residential neighborhood, you should only do it over a 48-hour period.
When Should You Use Fireworks?
The right thing and neighborly thing to do is to shoot off fireworks on July 3rd, July 4th, and July 5th. Any other time is a big no-no.
Most people have the 4th of July off, so shooting off fireworks on the 3rd is no big problem. People will be staying up late, there will be major town displays, and there is an expectation of fireworks on the 3rd.

The same goes for the 4th. As for the 5th, a lot of people are back at work, but the expectations of still hearing fireworks are still there, so the 5th is good to go.
Anytime before or after this time period is a big no-no!
