If you plan on celebrating the 4th of July with some adult beverages you need to make sure that you have a safe way to get home.

Buffalo-based attorney William Mattar is looking to help you get home safe this 4th of July. As he does around most major holidays, William Mattar is giving away free Under Rides home for 1000 people.

Mattar's Safe Ride 4 the 4th Program encourages people to have a safe plan to get home if they will be drinking while celebrating the 4th this year. You can sign up to get a digital Uber gift card with up $20 that can be used between Noon on Thursday, July 4th, and 2 am on Friday, July 5th.

There are 1000 digital gift cards up for grabs and they are available on a first come, first serve basis. You do need to hurry up because the program ends at Noon today.

Don't forget that New York State Troopers will have extra DWI checkpoints and patrols this holiday weekend. It is all part of New York State's STOP DWI/High Visibility Campaign.

During last year's 4th of July campaign, New York State Troopers issued over 11,000 total tickets and arrested over 150 people for DWI. New York State Troopers also investigated over 700 accidents.

The dog who likes fireworks probably is a good hunting dog too. But, not mine, and not a lot of other dogs on the Fourth of July. But there are things you can do to help your furry kid get through fireworks season without going totally insane.

The American Kennel Club has all kinds of advice on how to get your pooch through the entire summer in good shape. But for the Independence Day holiday, they have 10 tips on how to keep your dog calm.
