The National Home Builders Conference is happening this week and a lot of discussion is going on regarding what Generation Y wants in a home.

While Baby Boomers desire cookie cutter homes in planned subdivisions in the burbs, their children would rather be in an urban setting and are less concerned about soaker tubs, formal living rooms, and dependence on a car.

Other things low on the list for Generation Y are large yards that need mowing, large overbearing rooms, and cavernous hallways.

Things that matter to Gen-Y are amenities like game rooms, party rooms, fitness centers, and outdoor fire pits.
