Weird Things People Collect In Western New York
Most people have something that they collect. It could be baseball cards, coffee mugs, or dolls, but sometimes those collections get a little "weird"
A friend of mine said it was weird that I collect snowglobes, and to be honest, it kind of is because I never set out to collect snowglobes.
I got one from a friend of mine as kind of a joke since it was from Florida and I was living in Buffalo, and displayed it in my office. From there, the collection started to grow.
When I started to move to different parts of the US, like Myrtle Beach and Panama City Beach, aka tourist traps, I bought some, and my collection expanded.
@new961buffalo What is one thing that you collect and why do you collect it? #collect #collection #snowglobes ♬ original sound - The New 96.1
So, if you are a collector, what do you collect and why? We asked that question on social media and found out that a lot of people collect some weird things.

Elephants - Carrie said she got her elephant collection from her Dad. He got his first one while serving overseas in the US Navy, and at the time of his death, he had around 700 different elephants. Now Carrie has those elephants.
Pens - Marybeth said she collects Gnomes and Pens. Gnomes, I get, and a lot of people collect them for their garden, but pens are pretty weird. There are not many "collectible" pens out there unless you go really old school. I picture Marybeth with like 5000 Bic blue pens in her garage. haha
Houseplants - I think if you have a collection of houseplants, you probably have an indoor garden, right? Plants are great, and they provide a lot. Having a hundred or two plants inside your home might qualify your home to be listed as a botanical garden.
