**UPDATE** - After being closed for a couple of days, the owners of Salvatore's announced they will reopen the restaurant this weekend. They will use another dining area in the restaurant while restoration is being completed in the main dining room.

The fire started in a boiler room before moving into the main dining area. Work to restore that dining room is currently underway, but diners can still head out this weekend and enjoy food and drinks in other dining areas inside the building.

A fire on Monday afternoon has led to the closing of a very popular Western New York restaurant.

Fire At Salvatore's Causes The Restaurant to Shut Down

Firefighters were called out to Salvatore's restaurant on Transit Road on Monday afternoon. Crews were called out around 4 pm on Monday to deal with a fire in the dining room.

According to initial reports, the fire started in the ceiling of the dining room and was contained quickly by firefighters. According to this post on WGRZ, the dining room was the only area affected by the fire.

Due to the fire, Salvatore's will be closed. There was no word on when it will reopen, but we will keep you posted as we get that information.
