The airline currently flies between Niagara Falls and Myrtle Beach (MYR).

Spirit Airlines, at this point, has not outlined any plans to return to the airport. Speculation is with the U.S. - Canadian border closed, there is less demand for those flights from Canadian travelers leading the airline to suspend operations.

In Buffalo, Prior Aviation, a staple at the Buffalo International Airport for 50 years is leaving. Dallas based, TAC Air,  will take over services, like fueling and maintenance,  for private and commercial airlines at the airport.

TAC Air is already looking at upgrades when they assume operations.

“We have been in some conversations with the airport authority to talk about what the opportunities are,” said Tad Perryman, vice president of marketing TAC Air. “They’re working with them to determine what the best upgrades will be and what the future might hold.”

Reports are that Prior Aviation employees won't be displaced.

“So, we are bringing on the employees that are there working for Prior, and it’s about 120 employees, they’re going to move right underneath TAC Air doing the same programs and services that Prior was providing,” said Perryman.

Neither Prior Aviation nor Spirit Airlines were available for comment on the pending changes.
