Spring is here and that means so is road work.

A major project along the Thruway is expected to have a moderate impact on traffic over the next couple of days.

According to the Niagara International Technology Coalition, a new project is set to impact travel along the 90 heading eastbound.

The right lane of the 90 Eastbound will be closed from Exit 56 (Route 179) in the town of Hamburg to Exit 55 (Ridge Road)
in the Town of West Seneca.

Traffic will be forced to merge from two lanes to one in that stretch of the Thruway. Road crews are expected to be out there all week long from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

According to the latest information, the road project is expected to be completed by May 3rd, but it will depend on the weather.

That isn't the only new project that will be starting in the area.

There will be some lane restrictions along I-86 Eastbound just beyond Exit 21 near the City of Salamanca. That road work is expected to be completed by Monday evening.

There will be some lane restrictions along Boston State Road between Mill Street and Holiday Drive. There will be a road crew out there through Thursday, May 2nd. The lane restrictions will be in place from 7 am until 4 pm.

Also, be on the lookout for crews along the 290 Eastbound from Exit 3 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) to Exit 5 (Millersport Highway). Crews will have the left lane closed on Sunday between 6:30 am and 5 pm. That work should be completed by Monday, weather permitting.
