Olean Police Respond To Dog Shooting
The Olean Police Department has issued a statement in regards to an officer fatally shooting a dog last week.
The Police department issued a press release via their Facebook page.
At this time, the dog was on the porch of the residence, and several attempts were made to try to catch the dog with the pole. There were two SPCA personnel as well as the DEC officer on scene, working together in an attempt to get the dog in a position to capture it using the catch pole. We were unsuccessful in our attempts to catch the dog using these means. The dog had been on the porch of the house up to this point. When the dog left the porch, and the officers no longer had the ability to control the dog’s movement, the decision was made to put the dog down
