We are still in the very early stages of seeing leaves change color here in New York State. While there are still plenty of green leaves and trees, in some spots in New York, colors are starting to change.
According to the website explorefall.com, most of New York State is under green conditions for leaf colors. That means plenty of green is still on the trees.

There is some light change in color in the Northeastern part of the state. Places in and near the Adirondack Mountains are starting to change. It is still in the very early stages, but you could start to see the reds, yellows, and oranges of Fall.
When Will The Leaves Start To Change In New York State
Based on the current prediction from explorefall.com, the majority of New York State won't start to see a lot of different colors until the beginning of October. The leaves will change out East first before turning colors in the Western part of the state.
Peak Fall Foilage will be around October 18th, with past peak colors happening at the end of October heading into November.
