Just a day after the Buffalo Bills fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, one of the team's most respected players is calling it quits.

There are several reports citing that Bills safety Micah Hyde is set to retire from the NFL.

Hyde rejoined the Bills' practice squad this year and while he didn't play in a game he made an impact on the team, helping coach some of the younger players. Hyde was a 5th-round pick in 2013 by the Green Bay Packers but turned into an All-Pro when he joined the Bills in 2017.

Hyde along with Jordan Poyer were one of the top safety pairs in the NFL when they played with the Bills. Hyde was an NFL All-Pro player in 2017 and 2021 and was named to the NFL Pro Bowl in 2017.

Hyde's contract with the Bills expired after last season and he said he wouldn't play for any other team.

He played in 158 games in his NFL career making 482 tackles along with 5 sacks and 2 interceptions. He played in 17 postseason games as well, making 54 tackles along with one sack and two interceptions.

He might be best known for his interception in the endzone in the Bills playoff win over the New England Patriots.

Hyde could join the Buffalo Bills as a coach for next season, but no official announcement has been made.
