Tuesday's drawing of the new Mega Millions format has paid off big time for lottery players in New York State.

The new Mega Millions ticket price jumped from $2 to $5, but now every ticket comes with a built-in Megapiler, which could increase the prize amount between 2x and 10x.

While no one won the $54 million grand prize, those built-in Megapilers have paid off for several Mega Millions players. According to the New York State lottery, there were 12 tickets that won $1000 or more.

Each one of those tickets won the 4th or 5th place prize, and based on the Megaplier assigned to their ticket, they won between $1000 and $2000.

Tuesday's winning Mega Millions numbers were 10-16-50-60-61 with a Megaball of 17.

Since no one claimed the grand prize, the jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing is now up to $72 million dollars.

Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing was the first under the new format and like the Mega Millions officials stated, there were more winners with bigger prize amounts.

The Mega Millions is drawn every Tuesday and Friday, and tickets now cost $5.
