Buffalo Bills Bring Back Former Quarterback
The Buffalo Bills have one of the best rosters in the entire NFL. In fact, you could argue that they have the number one roster in the league.
The only actual needs the Bills have after the first week of free agency is wide receiver, cornerback and interior offensive line. All of those needs just need depth.
The Bills made a move for a backup quarterback on Saturday, as the team traded a 7th round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to the Cleveland Browns for quarterback Case Keenum.
Keenum is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and reunites with former teammate, Stefon Diggs.
On Monday, the Bills officially added a third quarterback to the roster. It’s a player Bills fans know well.
The Bills have signed quarterback Matt Barkley to a one-year contract.
Barkley signed with the Bills in 2018 after being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013. Barkley was with the Bills through the 2020 season before leaving Buffalo.
Barkley spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons in 2021.
Barkley was once considered a first round draft prospect in 2012 before electing to back to USC. His career has been as a backup in the NFL but he’s a valuable presence in the locker room and is good friends with Josh Allen. He likely won’t dress for all the games, but will be an added coach for the offense.
This move likely takes the Bills out of contention drafting a quarterback on day three of the draft.
