Local New York TV Anchor Gets Engaged

Something might of looked different if you watched Channel 4 news at 10 pm and 11 pm.

You might have noticed that anchor Kelsey Anderson was wearing a new piece of jewelry. She recently came back from vacation sporting a new engagement ring.

She explained on the newscast that her boyfriend, now fiance, flew out to surprise her while she was on vacation in Idaho.

Anderson explained that she first met her fiancé around 10 years ago when she followed him on "X", formerly known as Twitter. She is a big Bills fan and she followed him after he posted some Tweets about the team. Her fiancé Nick also works for WIVB Channel Four. He is the director of their digital team.

There have been plenty of big changes at Channel 4 over the past several months.

One of the biggest is that Jackie Walker announced that she is stepping away from daily anchoring duties later this month.

She announced that May 21st would be her last day as an anchor. She will still be working for the station, doing interviews and other community events.

Walker has been with WIVB for over 40 years and is the longest-tenured anchor at one station in Buffalo's history.
