Joe Has Breakfast with Willard Scott

"You'll never guess who I had breakfast with when I was on vacation"....how many times have you heard something like that?

Well here is my story. Last week Corinna and I were vacationing in Sanibel, Florida, we went into The Over Easy Cafe for breakfast, and guess who came in and sat down next to us. NBC's Willard Scott, he is semi-retired now and he and his wife have a home in Sanibel, and spend 5-6 months of the year there. Willard was very friendly, and told me that his favorite memory of Buffalo was when he and a camera crew visited the city to shovel snow in then-mayor Jimmy Griffin's driveway. Unfortunately it was a mild winter that year and there was no snow, so the city trucked it in from the snow-belt. As Willard said as we were leaving "Long Live Buffalo!"
