Runaway Cow Shuts Down Part of New York State Thruway
A daily ritual that just about every modern worker or traveler has to deal with is traffic. Whether it's driving to or from work, making deliveries, or running errands to make sure the family has what it needs, it's often quite difficult to get away from having to hit the roads around the region.
Now, all over the Empire State, you can find highways and byways that dot the region. Some have various levels of traffic on the roads, and often you can get around without much drama. However, every once in a while, rush hour traffic comes with something a little different, and it seems earlier this afternoon, along the New York State Thruway, when some bovine was trying to navigate the road, median, and hundreds of cars trying to drive along I-90.

Winter driving around Buffalo is usually pretty treacherous, but it often does not include cows on the highway, but that was the case earlier today when somehow cows were roaming around I-90 near Hamburg, just outside of the city.
Video captured by NITTEC traffic cameras in Western New York showed that several cars were pulled over on the shoulder on both sides of the New York State Thruway as passersby and first responders tried their best to corral the bovine as it ran around.
According to both WKBW-TV and WGRZ-TV, traffic between Thruway exit 54 and exit 56 was tied up for quite a while.
There are no farms nearby this section of the Thruway, so officials were confused as to where the cows came from. Luckily, no persons, properties, or beef were injured, and the cows were corralled pretty quickly once everyone was on the scene.
