Walmart Holding Special Health Event Across New York State

Today, hundreds of Walmarts across New York State will be showing off their health and vision care during a free health event.

Walmart Hosting Free Health Event In New York State

Walmart will be hosting this free wellness event at area stores today between 10 am and 2 pm.

You will be able to get free health screenings, flu and COVID-19 shots, as well as other health-focused activities.

The event will be held in the Pharmacy department of each store.

There is no cost to attend the event, and screenings will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

When Should You Get A Flu Shot?

Now that we are wrapping up Summer and heading into Fall, you should think about getting a flu shot.

According to medical experts, the time to get your shot is in September or October. Flu season usually peaks during December and January, and getting the shot ahead of time lets your body develop immunity well in advance of flu season.

Medical experts recommend that everyone who is able to get a flu shot get one. Most adults over 55 should get a flu shot. Also, kids 8 years and under usually need two shots, so it is important to get the first one as soon as you can.
