McDermott; “We’ll See” About Milano Playing Sunday
Coach McDermott spoke with the media today as they get ready for their big game on Sunday against the 49ers and commented on the possibility of Milano being out there.
The Bills are coming off of their bye this week. While many thought that they would come back at full speed, there are still a lot of question marks with regard to the health of a few of their players.
They're still waiting on Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid to see if either of them will be ready to go. Keon will be practicing on a limited basis. Dalton Kincaid will not be practicing today.
One of the players that has gathered the most interest from fans is linebacker Matt Milano. He hasn't played in a game since the Jacksonville game in London in 2023. He broke his leg in that game and then as he was beginning to recover, he suffered a setback as he tore his bicep in training camp. He's been on Injured Reserve ever since.
The team was able to open his 21-day window a couple of weeks ago which gives the team some time to evaluate him and decide if he is ready to be added to the 53-man roster.
When asked point blank if Milano could play on Sunday, McDermott responded immediately with "We'll see." He's practicing today and they will be watching him to see if he's ready to go.
Remember when you were a kid and you'd ask if you could stay overnight at a friend's house? If your parents said, "we'll see" it was kind of good news. They didn't say no right away. If you're looking for some good news here, he didn't immediately rule him out of the game. They will have until 4 pm on Saturday to add him to the regular roster.
Another player to keep an eye on is rookie defensive tackle DeWayne Carter. He's been on IR for a few weeks and the team has just opened up his 21-day window today to see if they can get him back on the roster soon.
