What is a meat raffle in Buffalo?
It has become one of the most common, fun fundraisers in Western New York that have really taken off. I mean, it sounds exactly like a Buffalo thing--you hold up a dollar bill (maybe two) and someone comes and gives you a ticket. Then you spin a wheel and if it lands on your number they give away strip steaks, pizza rolls, bacon or other prizes while we drink on pitchers of beer in the middle of a firehall or VFW-like place.
