Crews Clear Scene Before 8:00 a.m.

The good news is that thanks to the quick and efficient work of road crews, the dump truck was eventually removed from the median and another vehicle was pulled from the median and traffic began flowing again before 8:00 a.m.

While officials have not released the exact cause of the incident, it serves as an important reminder for drivers during winter conditions.

Leave Extra Space Around Construction Vehicles in Winter Weather

This time of year, it’s critical to leave a safe distance between your vehicle and others on the road, especially large construction vehicles like dump trucks and plows.

Many of these vehicles have signs posted on the back asking drivers to stay at least 200 feet behind them. That extra space can make a big difference in reaction time, especially on icy or snow-covered roads.

A big shoutout goes to the men and women driving these large trucks and operating construction equipment, as well as the crews working tirelessly to keep roads clear of ice and snow. They’ve faced a challenging winter so far, and overall, road conditions have been manageable given the weather we’ve experienced.
