Heavy Soaking Rain Expected This Afternoon Across Western New York
Things in Western New York will start off dry before heavy rain showers move into the area, making the afternoon commute much slower than normal. A major weather front is expected to push across the region this afternoon, bringing rain and then cold as we head into the weekend.
Heavy Rain Is Expected Today In Western New York
This afternoon will be a wet one in Western New York, with some potential severe weather possible in the Southwestern area of the 716. There is a risk of severe weather and even a possible tornado near the New York/Pennsylvania border and around Jamestown.
The rest of Western New York will be dealing with rain, possibly heavy soaking rain this afternoon. The rain will make travel around the region slower than normal, so expect delays for the afternoon commute.
Major Cold Front To Cool Down Western New York This Week
After reaching a high near 57, things will cool down this weekend around the 716. A cold front will drop our high temperatures from the 50s to the 30s on Friday and into Saturday and Sunday.
We will see mostly sunny skies on Friday with a high near 34, and then there is a chance of snow on Saturday, mainly in the early morning hours, with the temperature remaining near freezing.
We will warm back up on Sunday, and we should be back into the 50s by Monday. Temperatures will be in the mid 40s and 50s for next week, with rain expected a couple of days to wrap up the month of March.
