If you have any late summer plans on traveling to the beaches along the East Coast and in Florida, your plans could be delayed this week.

Hurricane Debby has made landfall along the Florida Gulf Coast and will move Northeast through Georgia and into North and South Carolina.

While the hurricane will remain a category one or two, it will be very slow moving which could end up delaying flights into the South.


The hurricane could delay or cancel flights into Atlanta, Charlotte, and other southern airports. Officials are suggesting that if you are flying out of any airports in New York this week, double-check with your airline before heading to the airport.

You should be able to find out if your flight has been delayed or canceled before heading to the airport. That way you won't have to spend an extended time at the airport.

Hurricane Debby is expected to move across the South this week and finally turn up North along the coast starting Thursday evening into Friday morning.

Some places down south could get up to two feet of water over the next couple of days which could impact your travels and hotel stays.
