If you have been hoping to see some snow before Thanksgiving you might get lucky.

The latest weather models show a possible snowstorm forming and bringing plenty of snow to part of New York State this week.

It looks, based on these models, that much of the snow will be in the Catskills and around Northern New York.


Much of New York State is expected to be well above average when it comes to temperatures this month according to the National Weather Service.

So if you are hoping to see some snow, you might have to travel a bit to see it. Not all hope is lost for snow lovers in New York State. The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for lake-effect snow the week of Thanksgiving for parts of New York along Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

The average first day of measurable snow for most of New York is around November 8th, so we are running late this year when it comes to snow across the Empire State.
