The next time you wake up and turn on the TV to get the latest weather forecast things might look a little strange.

After 20 years on air with Spectrum News, meteorologist Dan Russell announced that Thursday was his last day with the company.

Russell joins a slew of TV anchors, reporters, and meteorologists who have left TV stations in Western New York and moved to a new station in town or out in other markets.

Scott Paterson left Spectrum News in 2023 and joined the Wake Up show on WIVB in January.

  WGRZ's Heather Ly left the station earlier this year after 17 years.

Russell is the latest media person to leave, but chances are he will be back on air soon.

These Are The 23 Drive-In Theaters Left In NY State

New York State has the highest drive-in movie theater screens in the country. That means there's probably one not too far from wherever you are. There are a handful here in the Capital Region. 
Back in the swinging '60s, drive-in theaters were all the rage, with over 4,000 scattered across the country and a whopping one hundred fifty right here in New York State alone. But times have changed, and now only twenty-three of these nostalgic gems are left in New York State. Check them out.
