You would see some swelling and redness around the bite area. The other good news is that Joro Spiders only bite when they are cornered. So if you leave them alone, they should leave you alone.

So what should you do if you do see these giant flying spiders this summer around your house?

The best thing to do is call a local pest service. They should be able to come out and assess the situation and come up with a plan to keep these spiders out of your yard.

You should knock down their webs as well. This will keep them from getting settled in and chances are if their webs keep getting knocked down they will leave the area.

You can also treat the outside of your home with pest protection. Using over-the-counter agents could help keep the Joro spider from setting up shop near your home.
