According to new data from research done at the University of Washington, there are certain colors that mosquitos tend to attack and be drawn to over other colors.
Mosquitos tend to fly toward specific colors, including red, orange, black and cyan. The mosquitoes ignore other colors, such as green, purple, blue and white. The researchers believe these findings help explain how mosquitoes find hosts, since human skin, regardless of overall pigmentation, emits a strong red-orange “signal” to their eyes.
Besides wearing different colors, you can use plants to help keep mosquitos at bay this summer.

Keeping mosquitos away from you this summer is a very good idea. Mosquitos are considered to be one of the deadliest insects in the world.
They can easily infect their host with a variety of diseases since they bite many different people. A study from the BBC showed that mosquitos are responsible for 725,000 human deaths each year worldwide.
So this summer be mindful of what you wear and help keep mosquito bites to a minimum.
