Today, schools, banks, and government offices in Western New York are all closed for Veterans Day, but what about retailers like Walmart?

Are Western New York Walmart Stores Closed Today?

The answer is no. If you need to do some shopping, Walmart and most retailers will be open today with normal business hours on Veterans Day

In fact, Walmart will only be closed for two days during the year. The giant retailer announced that it will close all its stores in Western New York and around the country on Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Day. They are open every other day of the year.

The good news, too, is that restaurants are open today, and many are offering special deals and free meals for Veterans.

Veterans Day Freebies In Western New York

Restaurants like Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Cracker Barrel are offering free meals for Veterans and active duty members of the military today.

Applesbee's is offering Veterans a free meal from their special Veterans Day menu, which features some of their most popular items. Cracker Barrel is offering all Veterans a free Sunrise Pancake Special, and Starbucks is offering Veterans and their spouses a free tall iced or hot coffee.
